I wanted to give back and do something for the environment. I am tired of just sitting back and talking about how we all neglect our environment. I stopped and thought about a cause that I would be passionate about. I have always been mesmerized by chimpanzees and gorillas. I remember being captivated by them when I visit the San Diego zoo and got to go behind the scenes of the chimpanzee facility. It was amazing to learn about them and how closely related we as humans are to them. A few years later I had the great opportunity to listen to Jane Goodall speak in person at an education conference I attended while I was a student at USC. I loved the talk she gave and was inspired by her connection to nature, her passion for helping the chimps and wildlife and her desire to educate people on how they can help. So, I recently visited the Jane Goodall Institute website to see how I can participate and help. That is when I became a Chimpanzee Guardian. Through providing a donation, I was able to contribute to helping feed the chimps at the Jane Goodall Chimpanzee sanctuary. I received a nice thank you note, chimpanzee photo and certificate for my humble donation. I felt so good and happy that I have finally taken a stand to help the environment and the truest spirits on our earth. I have always been mesmerized by chimps and gorillas. How can we ignore these spirits that are linked so closely to us as humans?
