I have to post these beautiful song lyrics as I feel they relate to how I feel about our Earth and what mankind has done to it. I have been reading several books by the author don Miguel Ruiz. His books are based on the spiritual guidance of the Mexican Toltec teachings and wisdom. He writes about finding spiritual enlightenment and transcending the hell that mankind has created and fostered here on Earth. He writes about quieting the Mitote (Mih-toe-te) the chatter in our head, or what I have referred to in a previous posting as the Freudian theory of the superego. Ruiz explains that we, as humans, live in hell here on earth. As he explains, hell is created by the human mind and has been taught in the Bible as a place the embodies fear, jealousy, injustice, hate, greed and pain. That is what we experience everyday here on Earth. He goes on to teach that we have the power to trascend this hell and live in our own heaven within. We can quiet the Mitote and practice the Four Agreements. We no longer have to live under the domestication of the human spirit and rather live a free life. I am striving to do just that. I want to live free of the hell that has been created and be at peace and truly connected to my spirit. I want to quiet the negative and insecure voice in my head and embrace the beauty and positivity in myself and my life.
I believe that these lyrics are fitting for this post:
Somewhere over the rainbow
Way up high
There's a land that I heard of once in a lullaby
Somewhere over the rainbow
Skies are blue
And the dreams that you dare to dream really do come true
Someday I'll wish upon a star
And wake up where the clouds are far behind me
Where troubles melt like lemon drops
A way above the chimney tops
That's where you'll find me
Somewhere over the rainbow
Blue birds fly
Birds fly over the rainbow
Why then oh why can't I?
If happy little blue birds fly beyond the rainbow
Why oh why can't I?
