My special man took my to San Diego this weekend. On Friday evening I rode the train down the coast to San Diego. What a beautiful ride it was with a perfect view of the ocean during sunset. Once I arrived we went out to dinner in Gas Lamp with friends and took in the San Diego nightlife. We ended up at our very nice hotel, the Omni, which is connected to Petco Park. I wish the Padres were in town! The next morning, we woke up, and went to eat fish and chips on the shore of the San Diego Bay. It we perfect! An impulsive move, we drove to the San Diego airport and and stood on the corner to watch the amazing jumbo jets fly about 50 feet over out head. It was amazing! Truly awe inspiring! After that, we visit some very cool antique stores and then headed over to Coronado Island; so beautiful to drive over the bridge to the island. My special man took me to the north island to watch the fighter jets fly in over head; they literally land right over the beach where people lay out or just walk their dogs. Sure enough a fighter jet lands right over us. It was SO AWESOME! Words cannot describe it. After walking the town, petting American bulldog puppies (SO CUTE!) and grabbing teas at Starbucks, we headed back to downtown San Diego. My day was already perfect, but then we met up with my sister, her husband, and my beautiful niece and nephew to walk around Seaport Village! It was very fun and neat to see how excited my niece and nephew were. After walking around with them for a couple hours, I really wanted to go eat in Old Town San Diego. So, left my sister and the babies and drove to Old Town. We met up with another friend of my special man's and ate at a delicious Mexican Food restaurant there. It was PERFECT! We at on the patio in a courtyard where the margaritas were absolutely delicious and Mariachis serenaded us. The company of my special man's friend was perfect and it was a beautiful evening to close out our perfect day.
San Diego has always held a special place in my heart. It is a beautiful place and definitely a place where we would love to live. It has always been a second home for me. It is just beautiful. There is something about it that I find to be special. I cannot put it in words. I can't wait to go back. Who knows, maybe we will make a home there someday!
